We have been using a company called Sonicbids to help manage our gig schedules and our press kit for promoters. Their software worked great and we were able to enter our gig schedule once on their site and it fed all of our social media as well as the "Happenings" page on this web site. However, they updated their software to a new version and unfortunately it crashed and none of the links work. This has really thrown our web presence in disarray.
As a result, we had to delete our Facebook gigs and music page because no page is better than one with a big error code on it! We also decided that the best thing to do would be to re-enter our entire schedule including all of the history on our own website. It's a really, really tedious process. But the resulting schedule looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm hoping to have the entire schedule input by midnight tonight. The lesson we learned is that critical information has to be kept on sites and databases we control. Now that we are moving everything over, that will be our new reality - better now than a couple of years from now.
The folks at Sonicbids are working very hard to correct the problems and we have no doubt they will fix their problems. They acknowledge that they bit off more than they could chew with this implementation, are extremely apologetic, and are constantly reporting their progress. We're sticking with them because it is through Sonicbids that Briagha won the "In Search of a Song" contest, was the featured artist for "I Am Entertainment" magazine, was one of the winners for Songwriter's Universe, was selected for NXNE and Canadian Music Week, placed on numerous internet radio stations, and on and on. They really have a great service for independent artists.
The Sonicbids crash happened about five weeks ago and, between it and the holidays, we haven't been updating our news section like we should've been. We apologize. Thanks for sticking with us through this transition and Happy New Year!!
