I
had my first gig at Main Street Cheese & Wine Uncorked on Saturday. I met a few new friends for the B-Team and had a great time. It's a nice little room and it sounded great. It was a last minute gig and we really enjoyed it. My next gig is also a first-timer. Red Poppy Studios is an absolutely gorgeous gallery and tea house. They are having an new art opening during the Friday Gallery Walk in Lafayette and I'm playing for a few hours starting at 6:00 pm.
We finished our Christmas song last week that we were writing for the Blonde Entertainment Holiday Joy Benefit Concert. This week, we're focusing on recording rough demos (guitar/vocal or piano/vocal) of our new songs for the Taxi Road Rally Songwriting Convention in early November. At this convention we get to play our new songs for world-class songwriting coaches. It's the bomb!
Some of you may remember that we lost one of our friends in late August. His name was Daniel Kline and he was only 23 years old. The local newspaper published a story about his family's heartbreaking journey after his car accident and the decisions that had to be made to save his organs so they could be donated to those in need. It is titled "The Death AND LIFE of Daniel Kline." The LIFE part refers to the fact that Daniel opted to be an organ donor and because he did, his death saved three lives. I think the newspaper tried to make an organ donation advocacy article and I think on most levels they succeeded. Please read the article and please consider being an organ donor.
